In addition, external factors such as tree growth, building construction, and foreign object attachment around transmission lines pose potential external force damage hazards that threaten line safety. Laser point cloud technology can quickly acquire three-dimensional coordinate information of objects around the line corridor and measure the distance between the line and surrounding trees, buildings, and other objects. When tree growth approaches the conductor and reaches the safety distance threshold, the system can issue timely warnings to remind operation and maintenance personnel to take action, thus avoiding short-circuit faults caused by trees touching the conductor. For construction activities beneath transmission lines, laser point cloud monitoring is used to observe the spatial position relationship between construction equipment and the line, preventing construction machinery from accidentally touching the line and greatly improving the efficiency and control ability in identifying external hazards.

Over long-term application, laser point cloud technology can also provide data basis for the renovation and upgrading of old transmission lines, ensuring that the renovation work is carried out efficiently and scientifically, and assisting in the construction of smart grids.
